Lita Miti-Qamata is a Senior Associate in the Trade Mark Department and holds an LLB degree from the University of the Western Cape. She has 6 years’ post-article experience and specialises in all aspects of trade mark prosecution including, clearance searches, registration, recordals, renewals and portfolio management of trade marks both locally and internationally.
Lita has acted for a wide array of clients including, major oil and gas and technology companies and focuses on the protection and prosecution of trade marks in Africa.
In addition, she has also has experience in the commercialisation of intellectual property such as license agreements as well as brand enforcement including, infringement and opposition proceedings, domain name disputes, company and close corporation name objections and anti-counterfeiting.
Lita is a member of the Law Society of Northern Provinces (practising), the Law Society of the Western Cape (non-practising) and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
Lita joins the do-ference as a mentor and will be available for one-on-one consultations with entrepreneurs.
